John’s purpose that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and by believing in Him we have life in his name. Goes on to say to write down all the things that Jesus did, the world would not contain the books. Challenge isn’t to write but to edit.

John’s Gospel is written with a focus on festivals or the great feasts of the Jewish people. Purpose of the great feasts is to reveal to us who Jesus is. Jesus is always the reason for the season and the fulfilment of the feast.
